Quay Theatre Arts ("QTA", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
This policy should be read alongside our Cookie Policy, which covers Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel in more detail.
Who we are
Quay Theatre Arts is a dance school based in Weymouth, Dorset, teaching children aged 2 to 19 from across Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and the surrounding area.

What information we collect
When you get in touch or book a trial class
If you fill out our enquiry form, we ask for your name and contact details (such as your email address and phone number) so we can respond to you.
The form also includes a free text box for any additional message or comments. If you choose to share information about your child in that box, such as their name, age or dance experience, we'll only use it to help respond with appropriate recommendations for them and won't ask for it as a required field.
When you browse our website
We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors use our site and to help us reach people interested in QTA's classes. This is covered in full in our Cookie Policy, and only happens with your consent via our cookie banner.
We don't collect payment details through the website, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children directly.
Why we collect this information
We use the information you provide to:
respond to your enquiry and arrange a trial class or answer your questions
keep a record of communication with prospective and current QTA families
understand how our website is used, so we can improve it
show relevant QTA adverts to parents in Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and the surrounding area who may be interested in our classes
Our lawful basis for processing enquiry form information is legitimate interest, responding to a request you've made, and taking steps towards a class booking at your request. Where we use analytics and advertising cookies, our lawful basis is your consent, given via our cookie banner.
Who we share information with
We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We may share information with trusted third parties who help us run our website and communicate with families, such as:
our website hosting provider
Google (via Google Analytics)
Meta (via the Meta Pixel, for Facebook and Instagram advertising)
Each of these providers processes information under their own privacy policies, and we only work with providers who take data protection seriously.
We won't share your information with anyone else unless we're required to by law.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry form information for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and, if your child joins QTA, as part of our ongoing records for current families. If you don't go on to join QTA, we'll keep your details for eight weeks in case you get back in touch, then delete them.
Analytics and advertising data collected via cookies is retained according to Google's and Meta's own retention periods, details of which are in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
ask what personal information we hold about you
ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
ask us to delete your information
withdraw consent for cookies at any time (see our Cookie Policy for how)
object to how we're using your information, or ask us to restrict it

Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information you share with us, including keeping enquiry information in secure systems and limiting access to those who need it to respond to you.
No method of storing or transmitting information online is completely secure, so while we do our best to protect your information, we can't guarantee its absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we start collecting information in a new way or using a new tool on our website. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
