Dance classes at our Weymouth studio

We run a variety of dance classes for children aged 2 to 19 from Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland.

Three classes: ballet, modern and tap, follow the ISTD syllabus, and every class is taught with the same focus on proper technique and genuine progress, whether your child is heading towards exams and festivals or just wants to dance for fun.

Core dance classes

  • Ballet: classical technique, posture and control, and the foundation almost every other style builds on.

  • Modern: technical, expressive dance drawing on classical and theatrical movement.

  • Tap: rhythm, timing and lightness of foot.

Performance and expressive styles

  • Contemporary: fluid, emotive movement that gives older dancers (12+) room to interpret and perform.

  • Commercial Jazz: current, performance-style choreography inspired by music videos and stage shows.

  • Musical Theatre: storytelling through song and dance, building the all-round performer.

Technique and specialist classes

  • Limbering and Conditioning: the flexibility, strength and injury-awareness that supports every other style.

  • Pointe: for ballet dancers ready to progress en pointe, taught with the care that stage of training needs. We also offer pre-pointe classes for students to strengthen their feet and ankles, in preparation for pointe classes.

  • Leaps, Turns and Kicks: our focused technique class to sharpen the tricks that make choreography shine.

  • “I started off with one class and quite quickly upped to four a week. I really enjoyed how friendly all the teachers were and I still attend their shows at the Pavilion each time. The environment is so supportive and I was never worried to just be myself and express myself in ways I never would have thought."

    — Beth McCann, former student

  • "The training goes far beyond dance technique - it builds confidence, resilience and respect. The discipline I learned through dance shaped the man I am today."

    — Ashley Davey, former student

  • "From experience I can wholeheartedly say it’s the most friendly and welcoming dance school in Weymouth and the standard of talent is so high. Whether it’s just as a hobby or to pursue a career in dance, they teach a huge variety of dance styles and musical theatre for all abilities."
